Smart TimeCard Privacy Policy

Effective August 6, 2026

Smart TimeCard is designed to keep your work information private. Your shifts, pay settings, job locations, bonuses, and time-off records are stored on your device. We do not operate an account system or a server that receives your timesheet data.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the information you enter, including work entries, jobs, rates, schedules, employer details, and export preferences. You can edit or delete this information in the app. Deleting the app removes its local data, except for copies you exported or backed up separately.

Location

If you enable automatic tracking, Smart TimeCard uses Apple Location Services to detect arrival at and departure from the work locations you choose. Your precise location, and the work locations you save, are processed entirely on your device. They are never sent to us, and they are never shared with our advertising provider.

Separately — and whether or not automatic tracking is on — Google may derive an approximate location from your device’s IP address when serving ads in the free version, as described under Advertising below. That is an estimate of your general area, not the work locations you set in the app.

You can disable automatic tracking in Smart TimeCard, or revoke location access entirely in iOS Settings, at any time. Location is used only when Automatic Tracking is enabled and you grant location permission.

iCloud backup

Smart TimeCard keeps an automatic backup of your records in your own iCloud Drive, in a folder named “Smart TimeCard” that you can open in Apple’s Files app. This is on by default and can be switched off at any time in Settings → Backup.

The backup goes to your personal iCloud account, which Apple operates under its own privacy terms. It does not pass through any server of ours, and we cannot view, retrieve, or restore it. You can delete backup files yourself in the Files app.

Advertising and consent

The free version shows ads through Google AdMob (the Google Mobile Ads SDK). Depending on your region and your choices, Google may process device identifiers, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, advertising interactions, product interaction, and diagnostic information — in order to serve, measure, prevent fraud in, and in some cases personalise ads. Google AdMob is our only advertising provider. Apple separately processes iCloud backups and in-app purchases.

Before any ad is requested, Smart TimeCard asks for the consent required in your region. On iOS, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt also asks whether you allow tracking across apps and websites. You may decline either one and keep using every free feature; you will simply see less relevant ads.

You can change your ad-consent choices at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices, and your App Tracking Transparency answer in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Buying Pro removes ads entirely. Google’s handling of advertising data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not use a separate analytics or crash-reporting service. AdMob provides aggregated advertising information such as impressions, clicks, and revenue.

Purchases

Smart TimeCard Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment-card information. Apple provides the app only with the status needed to unlock Pro features.

Exports, email, and printing

Exports are created on your device. When you choose to share, email, print, or save a file, the destination service you select receives that file under its own privacy terms. Smart TimeCard does not automatically send exports to us.

Support

If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to include. We use it only to respond and retain it only as reasonably needed for support and legal obligations. You may ask us to delete a support conversation.

Deleting your information

Because your records live on your device, you control them directly: edit or delete individual entries in the app, delete backup files in the Files app, or delete the app to remove its local data. There is no account to close and no copy of your timesheet for us to delete, because we never receive one.

Children

Smart TimeCard is a general productivity app for people who are working, and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the app is not listed in the App Store Kids Category.

Changes

We may update this policy when app features or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
