If something in your hours looks wrong, say what you expected and what you saw. The day, the clock-in and clock-out times, the job, and the total the app showed. That is almost always enough to find it.
Common questions
How do I give my employer a timesheet?
Open the Entries tab, pick the pay period, and export. You get a PDF laid out like a paper timesheet, or a CSV if payroll wants the raw numbers. You can email, print, or save it wherever you like.
I work more than one job. Will they see each other's hours?
No. Each job is treated as a separate employer — its own pay rate, its own overtime, its own export. An export for one job contains only that job's hours, and the file name says which job it is.
How is overtime worked out?
By rule, per job: daily overtime, weekly overtime, double time, and California's 7th-consecutive-day rule where it applies. Overtime is banded within each job and never pooled across jobs. You can see the breakdown on the Summary tab.
My lunch break stopped the clock, but my job pays through it.
Turn on paid breaks for that job. Stepping out and coming back within the gap you set resumes the same shift instead of starting a second one, so the day reads as one continuous stretch.
Automatic clock in/out isn't triggering.
iOS has to allow location access Always for arrival and departure to be detected in the background — check iOS Settings → Smart TimeCard → Location. Make sure the work location is saved on the job, and that the app is not in Low Power Mode, which iOS uses to defer background location.
Where is my data, and how do I get it back on a new phone?
On your device, and in a folder named "Smart TimeCard" in your own iCloud Drive, which you can open in Apple's Files app. Backups run automatically and are kept for the last several days. There is no account to sign into, so signing into the same iCloud account on the new phone is what carries your records across.
How do I delete everything?
Delete entries in the app, delete the backup files in the Files app, and delete the app to remove its local data. Nothing is held on a server, so there is nothing to request from us. See the privacy policy.
What languages does the app speak?
English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Farsi, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Tap the globe in the top right of any screen to switch.
What does Pro cost, and is it a subscription?
Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, with a free trial. It removes ads and unlocks automatic tracking. If you have restored a purchase and it hasn't unlocked, email the address above.
Smart TimeCard helps you keep your own record of hours worked. It is not legal, tax, or payroll advice, and figures it shows are estimates based on the settings you enter.
